Online i-Doc Wins New Media Award

My Millennial Life continues to garner attention. We’ve recently been awarded the Best New Media award from the New Media Film Festival in Los Angeles for our interactive online documentary. If you haven’t checked it out yet, definitely be sure to do so. And of course, a big congratulations to our collaborators Helios Design Labs for their incredible work on the digital doc.

My Millennial Life is distributed in the U.S by Filmakers Library, an Alexander Street Press company. This is a platform where educators can stream the film for viewing in classroom settings. We’re very excited that the film will be shared with even more youth.

That’s all we have for this update…but stay tuned. A new project in is in the works!

My Millennial Life picks up a Gold Medal for Documentary from the New York Festivals

On the heels of the CSA win for Best Documentary Program, My Millennial Life has picked up a Gold Medal for Documentary from the New York Festivals, Film & Television.

Thank you again, to the millennials who participated and shared their stories in the film as well as the production team members and funders, without whom we could not have made the film.

It’s been incredible to see the interest in the film, from its recent Cinema Politica screening in the small community of Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows, B.C. during student week, to its current inclusion, for the months of May and June, on Air Canada’s inflight entertainment.  Continue reading “My Millennial Life picks up a Gold Medal for Documentary from the New York Festivals”

MML Wins Canadian Screen Award for Best Doc!

On March 8th, My Millennial Life was announced as the 2017 CSA winner for Best Documentary Program! Producing partner, Charlotte Engel and I were thrilled to accept the award, and honoured that MML had been chosen by the Canadian Academy.

It was a fantastic evening. We sat with our friends from TVO, John Ferri and Linda Fong, and together had the opportunity to applaud many talented and deserving creators as they came on stage and accepted their awards.  Continue reading “MML Wins Canadian Screen Award for Best Doc!”

MY MILLENNIAL LIFE PLAYS AT RAINDANCE FILM FESTIVAL

Julian Chou-Lambert at Raindance with My Millennial Life

My Millennial Life screened Saturday, October 1 across the pond at London’s Raindance Film Festival. I wasn’t able to go, but our distributor TVF International represented the film. Julian Chou-Lambert (TVF) was there and had a dynamic conversation with the audience:

“[There was] lots of lively debate afterward during the Q&A. Both millennials and boomers were interested in the film – one man gave a particularly moving testimony about how his millennial son had been going through a very tough year, and that he had learned a lot of new perspectives from the film. Many were interested in the social campaign side of the doc, too.” Continue reading “MY MILLENNIAL LIFE PLAYS AT RAINDANCE FILM FESTIVAL”
