Although we\u2019d had test screenings and I\u2019d shown My Millennial Life<\/a> to each of the subjects when it was done, it was both nerve wracking and exciting for all of us to watch the finished documentary with over 500 other people.<\/p>\n

The TVO presented premiere screening<\/a> at the Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema was greeted by the crowd with enthusiasm, laughter and tears. It was clear they identified and\/or sympathized with the subjects\u2019 stories.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When the lights came up, Emily, Meron, James and Hope and I joined Nam Kiwanuka, co-host of TVO\u2019s Agenda, on stage for a discussion about the film<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We began by talking about the dreams and expectations 20somethings have today. This was followed by more direct questions for the subjects including:<\/p>\n

– Did you get a job?
\n– Are you still with your boyfriend?
\n– Was your start-up a success?
\n– Would you move back to your parents?
\n– What’s next?<\/p>\n

The documentary captured a moment in time, but clearly life goes on for Emily, Meron, James, Hope and Tim.<\/p>\n
